52 Weeks Of True Stories:
Build Character One Week At A Time

  • Faith gives you courage.
It’s easy to quit when things get hard, but faith pushes you to keep going even when others think you can’t.  For you, it could be sticking with your soccer team after an injury instead of giving up. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

  • Faith helps you stand firm.
Living by your convictions shows real strength when you don’t just follow the crowd. Howard wouldn’t back down from what he believed was right. You could refuse to cheat on a test even if friends pressure you to.Stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13

  • Faith fuels compassion.
Faith doesn’t just change you; it can also push you to care about others in bold ways. Example: Howard helped start Howard University so freed slaves could get an education. For you, it could be volunteering at a food pantry, helping someone who’s left out, or standing up for a classmate who’s being bullied. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
